Moroccan Tiles

Susan Reed

Moroccan Tiles -- click for an enlarged view This intriguing piece suggests the lines of a carpet; a bold inner geometric design surrounded by a wide border. You will learn how to manipulate hand-dyed threads so that the same colors flow up each side of a padded shape. Stitch a background where the use of exposed threads enhances the pattern and produces a subtle effect. The six shapes are filled with patterns, using both solid and hand-dyed threads. The border, by means of the width, the patterns, and the beads, frames and completes the entire design. The proper and careful laying of multi-plied threads and securely attaching beads will be stressed. Color choices will be available.
