| | February program: "Rhapsody Of
	    Hearts" with Sue Stokes
Please join us on Saturday, February 8th to
stitch "Rhapsody Of Hearts" with Sue Stokes of The Nutmeg Needle.
This counted thread sampler features interlacing, four varieties of Hardanger
squares, Rapid Stitch, Smyrna Cross, Oblong, Cross, Diamond Cross, Herringbone
Square, Crossed-corner Cushion Stitch, Rhodes Stitch, and Rhodes Hearts.
The colors are burgundy, green, wedgewood blue and ecru. The design is worked
on 28-count Antique Ivory Cashel Linen using DMC floss, #12 Perle Cotton,
and Sampler Threads from The Gentle Art (Evergreen, Red Grape, Claret and
Blue Spruce). The kit also includes a separate doodle cloth that is actually
a separate design. This piece is a trio of hearts surrounded by a Rhodes
	    Hearts border.
About SueSue Stokes attended the Paier School of Art where she studied children's
book illustration. For a while she designed greeting cards for Renaissance
Greeting Cards. She first designed cards using watercolors and colored pencils,
but found she got more of an effect when her stitching was photographed for
the cards. Sue worked on a freelance basis for about four years and during
this time designed a needlework piece for Leisure Arts. She also operated
a needlework and framing shop in Connecticut for three years. Ten years ago
she began her own design line, The Nutmeg Needle.

Sue travels and teaches nationally. She taught for Spirit of Cross Stitch
for three years, Celebration of Needlework for four years, and continues
to teach at needlework shops and guilds all over the country. She is known
as a friendly, knowledgeable, approachable and enthusiastic teacher.
