Our meetings for the foreseeable future will be online, but when in-person meetings are
possible again, they will be at Thistle Needleworks, 506 Silas Deane Highway in Wethersfield,
CT. The dates for meetings will be the first Saturdays of the even months, except
August. Directions to the store are on the

class. All you need to do is register by February 15th and collect your linen and
thread. We will be working on this piece as a group as we learn these techniques.

Zoom class with Susan Hoekstra - "Thread for All Seasons"
"Thread For All Seasons" offers a chance to work with the design
color of your choice. There are three color options from which to choose: Seasons, Jewel
and Spring! After this exercise, you will better understand how colors work together and
how colors work off each other. This exercise will be a real eye opener!
"Thread For All Seasons" is stitched on 18-count canvas measuring 9" x 9".
The finished size of this delightfully colorful piece is 6" x 6".
Class Objectives:
Learning how canvas color and threads work together is important for anyone doing
needlepoint. In the piece "Thread For All Seasons" the stitcher has the opportunity
to delve deeper into this relationship. The stitcher will pick out which painted canvas
they like (from three color choices). A stitch guide is provided. Come play with
this design, challenge your sense of color and work outside your box! Join the color
revolution!

UPDATE ON NER SEMINAR 2022
"The Stitches That Bind Us"
April 30 – May 1, 2022
With vaccinations rolling out and continued observation of
prevention protocols, it’s looking good for our hoped-for NER Seminar!
Here is where we stand: National approved our logo design
and theme, and an agreement was reached with the Sheraton Hartford in Rocky Hill, so we can now
solicit teachers and start publicizing the event. A budget will be developed soon.
We’re aiming for a no-frills seminar, since the EGA National Seminar
in Boston is on track for 2023 and many in the region will be involved with that. We plan
on 6 teachers and Studio Time, a familiar format.
This seminar will be co-hosted by PVC and CRVC, so as we get closer
to the date, we’ll be asking for any helping hands who’d like to volunteer for little jobs.
So far from our chapter: Linda Berry will be the registrar; Deb Milvae will handle finance until
November, when the next NER treasurer will take over, and then she’ll coordinate class angels;
Lisa Green will make food arrangements; Linda Berry and Kathryn Lord will put together welcome
packets for teachers and attendees.
So, fingers crossed, folks, and we hope to see you in person
in 2022!
