CHAPTER Saturday, April 11th - 50th Anniversary
Luncheon
We are planning a lovely luncheon at Apricots in Farmington.  Displays
of pictures from our past are being organized, and even favors are being
planned.
The schedule for this event will be from 11:30am to 3pm. Part of our celebration will be a display of pieces from our workshops,
seminars and our collection.  Please look through your possessions and
bring along as many as five pieces or objects that were taught at CRVC.  It
would be wonderful if you could have a card for each piece, listing the teacher,
the year and any other pertinent information that you can find.
We look forward to meeting with members and celebrating our chapter and its
activities.  Please come and be a part of it.

 Stitching-Go-Round NER Seminar 2015
You're invited to join us for a weekend of needlework fun!
The New England Region of EGA invites you to join us in the Ocean
State for NER Seminar 2015.  The Sheraton Providence Airport Hotel, next to T. F.
Green airport in Warwick, Rhode Island, will be the location of a fun-filled
week-end of embroidery delights.  Come early on Friday and visit some of
the attractions in nearby Providence.  If you prefer, check-in and relax at
the hotel, where you can enjoy the fitness center, indoor pool, or the peace and
quiet in your room.  Dine in the hotel restaurant or at one of the many
eateries within easy walking or driving distance of the hotel.  Top off
your day as the seminar opens with a dessert reception and merchandise night,
beginning at 7:30 p.m.  There are many more activities planned for your
weekend in New England.
 Check the region website, newenglandregionega.org,
for more information.

 Saturday, June 6th
To end our year before the summer break, we have changed our plans for this
June meeting.  We will meet at Suzanne Newton's house for a potluck
luncheon and stitch-in.  Bring whatever you want to work on: maybe it could
be your seminar piece.  Suzanne's lovely sunroom has room for us all with
wide open windows or air conditioning, whatever the day dictates.  The
meeting will be from 10am to 3pm, and her address is 14 Madison Lane, West
Simsbury.  Contact Suzanne at sfnjsn@att.net if you need further
information.

             "Spring
Meadow" - Jeanette Rees
Spring awakens following the winter chills and blues with
a young fawn quietly sitting in the meadow with a little owl looking down.
The class begins with color washing the canvas, on which the
student will then do both surface and traditional stitching.  New blades of
grass and blossoming flowers along with young trees are stitched with hand dyed
threads and silk ribbon.  The large tree will be stitched on a separate
piece of canvas, then padded and appliquéd to the main forest piece.
Dimension is enhanced by the use of padded batik fabric.
Creativity is encouraged, as students add their own touches to
this stitched forest.  Color wash paints and brushes will be available for
use in class.
This class will give the stitcher all the needed elements
to complete the piece at home.
