CRVC Meeting
Saturdays, February 8th & March 8th, 2025
"Water Spiral" with Terri Bay on Zoom
Registration for this class has closed. About one-third of our members will be participating and will
receive their kits shortly. Zoom info will be sent to these students shortly before each session.
You have a choice of four different designs, all worked on 18-mesh canvas. Each design is 5" square.
CRVC will be providing the charted patterns/instructions. Early registration is recommended so you have
time to gather the supplies you will need for the pattern you choose. Note that two of the designs -- the
straight-up butterflies -- may be stitched as half and made into an eyeglass case like the model shown.
A registration form is provided at the end of this newsletter. The supplies list for the design you
choose will be sent to you upon receipt of your registration.

from the profits of the 2024 national seminar sponsored by NER. More details to follow.
CRVC Outreach Event
CRVC members will teach an "Introduction to Ribbon Embroidery" workshop at the Cossitt Branch of the
Granby Public Library on Tuesday April 1, 2025, from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. The Cossitt Branch is at
388 North Granby Road (Route 189) in Granby. We will demonstrate several simple stitches that
can be combined into flowers to adorn projects such as bookmarks, eyeglass cases, or small bags.
We need 4-5 volunteers to help with this. Contact Kathryn Lord at
hglord@cox.net if you are able to do so.
CRVC Display
It's never too early to start thinking about which of your pieces you'd like to see in our next display,
which will be November 2025 in the main branch of the Granby (CT) Public Library.
The theme this time around is Favorite Techniques. Sure, we enjoy learning new things, but
we all have a favorite (or two) that we return to again and again, be it canvas work, blackwork, Japanese,
surface embroidery, ribbon, beading, or cross stitch. At our first display in Granby 14 years ago,
we had examples of 26 techniques!
We'll be collecting pieces in October and returning them in early December. Drop-off and pick-up
options will be publicized in September.
All members are welcome to attend CRVC Board meetings.
These meetings are held via Zoom.
Contact Judie at least 24 hours in advance at

CRVC Fund-Raising
The remaining books from the dissolved CRVC library, as well as other books and needlepoint canvases
that have been donated to the chapter, are now available for purchase.

Deb acquired the supplies and instructions for this piece at the "swap meet"
we held earlier in the year. Do you have a project that you will never finish?
Bring it to one of the in-person meetings to find it a new home.

Stitched by Kathryn Lord in a different colorway than Laurie Sulger's shown in the November newsletter.

Examples of the silk ribbon flowers to be taught at the outreach class in April.
These pieces were stitched by Judie Solomon. Each was a canvas she purchased from the canvases
donated to the chapter. They were stitched using the stitch guides that accompanied them.
